BAGUIO CITY -- Around 668 police personnel and force multipliers will be deployed in public and private cemeteries, tourist destinations, bus terminals, malls and public market, traffic and police assistance centers in the Summer Capital to ensure the safe and orderly observance of All Saints’ Day.
Of the total, 317 are personnel from the Baguio City Police Office, while the remaining 349 are force multipliers.
These personnel will be deployed from Oct. 29 (Saturday) to Nov. 2 (Wednesday), 2022 with the expected influx of visitors due to the long weekend.
Medical personnel and emergency volunteers will also be positioned in public and private cemeteries during the long weekend.
“There will be no rerouting of traffic anymore since there are a lot of construction works ongoing but police personnel will be dispatched to help direct traffic as well as implement the drop and go policy along access routes in the different private and public cemeteries,” said Lt. Col. Domingo Gambican, chief BCPO Tactical Operations.
He added the BCPO is ready with its evacuation plan in case of emergency in close coordination with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and the City Health Services Office–Emergency Medical Service.
The city government announced earlier that public cemeteries in Baguio City will be closed on Nov. 1 except for sponsored church services.
Visiting tombs of departed loved ones has been scheduled per district beginning Oct. 23 to Nov.5, 2022 (except Nov.1) to ensure proper crowd management and avoid traffic.
Those coming from nearby areas, particularly La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tublay and Tuba as well as all non-residents of Baguio may visit their departed any day except on November 1.
The city government also reminds the public not to bring prohibited materials inside the cemeteries such as liquor, firearms and pointed objects, flammable materials, gambling materials and loud speakers.
