Yawi earns praise from OhmyV33nus for stellar playoff run

Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera might have fallen short in bagging his very first MPL title but he earned the respect not just from his peers but also from his fiercest competitors inside the game.

Blacklist star Jonmar “OhmyV33nus” Villaluna reserved nothing but praises for the ECHO roamer who played a pivotal part to his team’s rise in Season 10 after a first round exit last season.

“Actually grabe si Yawi, sobrang napabilib niya ako. For sure hindi lang ako pati yung mga nanonood feeling ko sobrang napatunayan ni Yawi na isa talaga siyang world class or quality talaga na roamer. Napakita naman niya ‘yon sa RSG, kanina napakita rin naman niya ‘yon,” said OhmyV33nus.

Yawi actually played so great that the Hall of Legends member even actually wondered how it would feel playing alongside the veteran roamer.

“Kanina nag-swap kami ng jersey and nag-picture kami kanina. And actually isa din si Yawi na gusto kong ma-experience maging kampi,” said "The Queen."

The eventual MPL Philippines Season 10 champion was actually wary of Yawi all series long as it tried to shut him down by denying his signature Atlas and Tank Chou picks. Despite his main heroes being banned, Yawi still made a huge impact to the series using his Kadita, Valir and Jawhead picks which allowed the team to even take a 2-1 series lead.

The team however faltered towards the end as Edward “EDWARD” Dapadap took charge for the now three-time MPL champions.

ECHO assistant coach Robert “Trebor” Sanchez was confident if the team pulled off the win, Yawi would be very deserving of the finals MVP citation.

“Sobrang iba yung aura nya ngayong Season 10 gustung gusto niya talaga magchampion, sure ako si Yawi ang MVP Season 10 para sa akin,” Trebor said of Yawi.

Yawi, although visibly down after the loss, was quick to lick the wounds and vowed to bounce back come M4.

“Siguro mas pagbubutihan pa po namin para mas manalo kami sa M4 po,” he said.
