Store owner nabbed for allegedly selling shabu

Government anti-narcotics arrested a store owner after allegedly selling shabu to an undercover agent during a buy-bust operation in Butuan City.

The suspect Jose Matuquinas Jr., 25, was nabbed at his residence in Purok 5, Barangay Taligaman.

Following a tip from an informant, authorities mapped out a plan to undertake the operation where Matuquinas was eventually caught red-handed selling shabu and receiving the buy-bust money from a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agent.

Authorities seized shabu, buy-bust money and cellular phones where Matuquinas’ illegal transactions were coursed through.

The suspect faces charges for violation of republic Act (RA) 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’’ (Chito A. Chavez)
