Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Mel Robles turned over small town lottery (STL) shares worth P9,341,761.39 to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Monday, Oct. 24.

In a Facebook post, PCSO said that the checks were received by NBI Director Atty. Medardo "Ludgi" de Lemos during a ceremony held at VTech Tower in Quezon City.
The fund represents the STL shares of NBI for July, PCSO added.
Last Sept. 5, NBI and the Department of Justice also received their STL shares for April and May which amounted to P8,223,195.60.
STL is a mass-based local lottery controlled and managed by PCSO.
Through its revenue, PCSO is also able to assist various government institutions and not just individuals seeking medical assistance.
Under the law, PCSO is required to allot 30 percent of its income to charity services, 55 percent to game prizes, and the remaining 15 percent to operations.
