Local tribe to benefit from newly-completed P57.9-M bridge in Aurora – DPWH
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reported on Monday, Oct. 24, that it completed the P57.9M bridge project that is expected to benefit the Egongot community in the province of Aurora.
DPWH Aurora District Engineering Office (DEO) inaugurated the newly completed 50.8-lineal meter, a 2-lane bridge located in Barangay Bayanihan, Maria Aurora.

District Engineer Roderick Andal said the structure is seen to benefit not only the farmers and fisherfolks but also the local tribes and other indigenous residing in the far-flung barangay.
“This bridge will open up new opportunities not only for the residents but also for the Egongot tribe as it will be easier for them to transport their agricultural products to nearby markets,” said Andal.
The P57.9-million bridge project also includes the construction of a 286.1-lineal meter flood control structure and 263.2 meters of road approaches.
Andal added that with the completion of the bridge project, villagers will no longer have to cross the rock-strewn river that also overflows during heavy rains and typhoons
“This structure will not only provide residents with better mobility but will also improve the delivery of basic social services in communities that have become more accessible due to this project,” Andal added.
The bridge is now open to the public, according to DPWH Aurora DEO.
