CEBU CITY – Police arrested six persons in a week-long anti-illegal gambling operation in Cebu province.
Police said they were involved in the illegal numbers game called “swertres.”
One of those arrested on Monday, Oct. 17, in Balamban town was a 17-year-old boy.
Lt. Col. Glenn Hife, chief of the Balamban police station, said aside from engaging in illegal gambling, law enforcers recovered packs of suspected shabu from the boy.
“Three small packets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu were found in his possession,” Hife said.
The boy will face charges for violating Republic Act (RA) 9287 that penalizes illegal gambling and RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Hife said.
