P210-M worth of relief assistance delivered to super typhoon Karding-hit areas

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), concerned local government units, and other DSWD partners have already provided over P210 million worth of food and non-food items as resource augmentation to areas affected by super typhoon Karding (international name: Noru) in September.
Based on the report of the DSWD’s Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center, as of Oct. 23, P210 million worth of assistance was already distributed to the affected areas in Regions 1, 2, 3, 4-A, 5, National Capital Region, and Cordillera Administrative Region.
Karding has affected 395,265 families or 1,503,021 individuals.
There are still 46 families, or 187 persons, currently staying in seven evacuation centers, while 24 families, or 103 individuals, are staying with relatives or friends.
DSWD has over P1.87-billion worth of relief resources, comprising P845 million standby funds or quick response fund and P1.025-billion worth of stockpiles that are readily available for distribution.
