MB Daily News Update: Lotto draw produces another instant millionaire

Another solo bettor managed to become an instant millionaire after hitting the jackpot prize of the Grand Lotto 6/55 draw.

The draw for the P35.4-million jackpot was carried out by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Saturday night, with the winning numbers being 44, 50, 07, 52, 46, and 36.

Just a day earlier, the PCSO said that a lone bettor hit the winning combination for the Mega Lotto 6/45 jackpot worth P8.9 million. The winning numbers from that draw were 11, 35, 34, 40, 41, 22.

Meanwhile, over in Malacañang, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. gave his assurance that his administration would continue to protect Filipino journalists.

“Makaaasa kayo na ang ating Pangulo ay patuloy ang pagkilala sa hanay ng media bilang importanteng haligi ng ating demokrasya (Be assured that the President continues to acknowledge the media as a vital pillar of our democracy),” said Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) officer-in-charge Undersecretary Cheloy Garafil

“Patuloy ang commitment niya na kayo ay proteksyonan at kilalanin ang inyong important role sa nation-building (He remains committed in protecting you and recognizes the important role you play in nation-building),” she added.

There remarks were given amid developments in the ambush-slay of broadcaster Percy Lapid. The sentiment from the victim's family is that the Palace isn't interested in the case after the reported death of the alleged middleman in the killing.
