DPWH expedites renovation of San Miguel District Hospital in Bulacan

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now expediting the upgrading of the second phase of the San Miguel District Hospital to cater to the medical and well-being requirements of the residents in the vicinity and neighboring areas.
(DPWH Bulacan Second District Engineer George Santos said the San Miguel District Hospital sits on an 11,867-square meter property located along Daang Maharlika in Barangay Old Santa Rita and is one of the eight district hospitals managed by the Bulacan provincial government and serves as the dialysis center in the province’s third district.
“The expansion and improvement of San Miguel District Hospital began in Nov. 2020 and the two-phase project was implemented to provide the town of San Miguel with a more contemporary facility for improved health service delivery,” Santos said.
He cited that the redevelopment of the hospital is an initiative of Bulacan Third District Rep. Lorna Silverio is expected to have significant benefits for the patients of the said facility and will also enable efficient delivery of healthcare to San Miguel town residents.
“Once the hospital redevelopment is completed, fewer patients will have to travel to nearby municipalities for medical care and it will be easier for them to be cared for by their loved ones during treatment,” he added.
Santos stated that a total of P92.5 million has been allocated under the 2020 and 2022 national budgets for the continuous improvement of the San Miguel District Hospital. (Chito A. Chavez)
