Tropical depression Obet exited the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) and is no longer affecting any portion of the country, said the state weather bureau.

The state weather bureau lifted all wind signals as tropical depression Obet moved further away from the Philippine landmass.

Obet, according to PAGASA, is no longer affecting any portion of the country. It is also expected to exit the Philippine boundary on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 22.

5 a.m., Oct. 22

Tropical depression Obet is no longer expected to bring heavy rainfall to the country, said the state weather bureau, adding that Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 remained in effect over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

“Obet is forecast to exit the Philippine area of responsibility today,” PAGASA added.

11 p.m., Oct. 21

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Obet was last seen off the coast of Basco, Batanes and weakened slightly with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 55 kph.

“On the track forecast, Obet is forecast to track generally westward until tomorrow (Oct. 22) and will exit the Philippine area of responsibility tomorrow morning,” PAGASA said.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 remains hoisted over Batanes and Babuyan Islands due to the strong winds from Obet.

Meanwhile, PAGASA has lifted the tropical cyclone wind signal that was hoisted over the northern portion of Cagayan.

5 p.m., Oct. 21

The center of tropical depression Obet was estimated at 75 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

“Tropical depression Obet is forecast to track generally westward until tomorrow (Oct. 22) and its center is likely to pass over or very close to Batanes between this late afternoon and tonight (Oct. 21),” PAGASA said.

It said the weather disturbance may likely exit the country’s area of responsibility by Saturday morning or afternoon.

2 p.m., Oct. 21

The center of tropical depression Obet was last seen 140 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes at 1 p.m.

“Tropical depression Obet is forecast to track generally westward until tomorrow (Oct. 22) and its center is likely to pass over or very close to Batanes between this afternoon and evening (Oct. 21),” according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA said Obet’s maximum sustained winds increased to 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, from 45 kph three hours ago, while its gustiness increased to 70 kph, from 55 kph, previously.

11 a.m., Oct. 21

Tropical depression Obet continues to move westward toward the Luzon Strait, while maintaining its maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 55 kph, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Obet is still “likely to pass over or very close to Batanes between this afternoon and evening.”

As of 10 a.m., the weather disturbance was at 205 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.

8 a.m., Oct. 21

Tropical depression Obet maintained its strength while moving toward the Luzon Strait.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is still expecting Obet to closely approach or pass over Batanes or Babuyan Islands between Friday afternoon and evening.

The location of Obet was estimated at 235 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes at 7 a.m. and was moving westward at 30 kilometers per hour (kph).

It has maintained its maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center and gusts of up to 55 kph.

Signal No. 1 remains hoisted over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and the northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan (Santa Ana and Gonzaga).

Tropical depression Obet may likely closely approach or pass over Batanes or Babuyan Islands between Friday afternoon and evening, Oct. 21, according to the latest bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its bulletin issued on Friday, PAGASA estimated the location of Obet at 335 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes and moving westward at 30 kilometers per hour (kph).

“Tropical depression Obet is forecast to track generally westward until tomorrow (Oct. 22) and its center is likely to pass over or very close to the Batanes-Babuyan Islands area between this afternoon or evening (Oct. 21). On the track forecast, Obet will exit the Philippine area of responsibility tomorrow morning (Oct. 22),” PAGASA said.

Obet has maintained its maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center and gusts of up to 55 kph.

Due to the expected strong winds from this weather disturbance, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 remains hoisted over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and the northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan (Santa Ana and Gonzaga).

Tropical depression Obet has slightly accelerated as it moves west-southwest toward extreme Northern Luzon, according to the latest bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its 11 p.m. bulletin issued on Thursday, Oct. 20, PAGASA said Obet is moving west-southwest at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour (kph), while maintaining its maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center and gusts of up to 55 kph

Its location was estimated 555 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes at 10 p.m.

“On the track forecast, the center of Obet may traverse the Babuyan Islands-Batanes area on Saturday morning (Oct. 22). This tropical cyclone is also forecast to exit the Philippine area of responsibility on Saturday evening,” PAGASA said.

5 p.m., Oct. 20

Tropical depression Obet is still moving westward while maintaining its strength, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 20.

Last spotted 650 kilometers (km) east of Basco, Batanes, Obet was packing winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 55 kph. It is moving westward at 15 kph.

Tropical depression Obet was last observed at a distance of 745 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes and moving westward at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour.

“On the track forecast, the center of Obet may traverse extreme Northern Luzon or the northern portion of mainland Northern Luzon between tomorrow evening (Oct. 21) and Saturday morning (Oct. 22),” according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.

Before Thursday noon, Obet maintained its maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center and gusts of up to 55 kph.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 was still hoisted over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and the northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan (Santa Ana and Gonzaga) due to the expected strong winds from Obet.

Tropical depression Obet was last observed at a distance of 805 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon, and continues to move west-southwestward at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour (kph).

It has maintained its maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center and gusts of up to 55 kph.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 was hoisted over over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and the northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan (Santa Ana and Gonzaga) in anticipation of strong winds from Obet.

Obet has maintained its maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 55 kph, while moving west-southwestward at 10 kph on Wednesday afternoon.

Tropical depression Obet maintained its maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 55 kph, while moving north-northwestward at 15 kph.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration last observed the tropical depression at a distance of 1,025 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration estimated the location of tropical depression Obet, 1055 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon.

It has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 55 kph, while moving north-northwestward at 10 kph.

The low pressure area east of extreme Northern Luzon developed into tropical depression Obet, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
