Pres. Marcos appoints Zamboanga City mayor John Dalipe as RDC Chairperson

ZAMBOANGA CITY -- President Bongbong Marcos has appointed Zamboanga City Mayor John Dalipe as Chairperson of the Regional Development Council IX (RDC-9), according to a social media post by the City Government of Zamboanga on Friday, Oct. 21.

Dalipe was chosen in the list of nominees that also included Zamboanga del Sur Governor Victor Yu, Pagadian City Mayor Samuel Co, and Dapitan City Mayor Seth Jalosjos.
Dalipe and the three other nominees were listed during the RDC-9’s 178th regular and reorganizational meeting on Sept. 6 in Pagadian City.
The list of nominees were then submitted to President Bongbong Marcos for his consideration.
The Regional Development Council, composed of heads of local government units, local government officials and committee chairmen on various services, is the highest policy making body in the region.
Dalipe is the second mayor of Zamboanga City next to the late Maria Clara Lobregat to sit as RDC Chairperson.
