The Angels hardly broke a sweat in drubbing the Chargers, needing only 70 minutes to pick up their second win in three outings.

Lindsey Vander Weide did most of the damage by uncorking 21 points built on 18 kills and three blocks as Petro Gazz’s victory somehow erased the stigma of their four-set defeat to the Creamline Cool Smashers last Tuesday, Oct. 18.

“It’s always great to win in three sets. The most important thing is we really played together today and we improved on the things we wanted to from the last game,” said Vander Weide.

MJ Phillips also shone for the Angels with 11 points.

“I think we just wanted to take it one game at a time after coming off from that loss,” said Phillips.

So dominant were the Angels that they outclassed the Chargers in all departments particularly in attacks, 44-29, courtesy of Vander Weide and Phillips.

Petro Gazz also put up a tough defensive wall at the net by posting eight blocks compared to Akari’s four.

Prisilla Rivera tried the best she could to lift Akari by firing 19 points, but it was still not enough as the Chargers dropped to a 1-3 slate.
