PDEA agent, drug dealer killed in Pampanga buy-bust

An agent of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) died when a buy-bust operation in Mabalacat City in Pampanga on Friday night, Oct. 21, turned into a shootout.

The gunfight also resulted in the arrest of the target drug pusher.

PDEA agent Daniel Discaya, died on the spot after suffering a bulletwound in the head. He acted as the poseur buyer.

The suspected drug pusher, Buna Angnie, was also killed.

Based on the investigation, Angnie sensed Discaya was an undercover agent during the operation at around 8:30 p.m. in Barangay San Francisco, and immediately shot him in the head

Authorities later confiscated a knot-tied transparent plastic sachet containing more or less 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P340,000, a genuine P1,000 bill placed on top of boodle money used as buy-bust money and one caliber .45 pistol.

The suspect has been under intense surveillance by authorities for months before the buy-bust was carried out.
