Passenger hurt after stone thrown at bus in Pangasinan

MANGATAREM, Pangasinan â€“ Police arrested four men and a minor for allegedly throwing a stone at a moving bus that injured a passenger in Barangay Bogtong Silag here before dawn on Saturday, Oct. 22.

Major Arthur Melchor Jr., chief of police here, in a report to Col. Jeff Fanged, Pangasinan Police Provincial Office officer-in-charge, identified four suspects as Renny Antonio, Brian Rosario, Reniel Lolarga, and Joel Lolarga. Police did not identify the fifth suspect because he is a minor.

The driver told police that five persons threw a stone and hit the fifth window in the right side when the bus passed the waiting shed of Barangay Bogtong Silag.

One passenger was injured, Rolando Vinluan, 39, a security guard, of Barangay Bocboc, Aguilar, Pangasinan. He was treated at the Mangatarem District Hospital.

The bus driver was unharmed and suspects are now under the custody of the Mangatarem police.

Melchor said suspects, residents of Barangay Bogtong Silag, will face charges of frustrated murder and damage to property/malicious mischief.
