Pasay City gov't bags two awards from DTI

The local government of Pasay City received two awards from the Department of Industry (DTI) during the 10th Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Summit (CMCS) held at the Philippine International Convention Center on Oct. 20.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the city was recognized as No. 1 most competitive highly urbanized city in terms of economic dynamism and No. 3 in terms of infrastructure.

Rankings of cities and municipalities are based on the sum of their scores on four pillars -- economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure, and resiliency.

Pasay City got its rankings through the 2022 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI).

CMCI is one of the DTI Competitiveness Bureau programs which enjoins local government units to gather and submit data that serve as basis for their scores and ranks.

Launched in 2012, the CMCI Program culminates with a summit, where the most competitive cities and municipalities are recognized.

Rubiano, together with some government officials, personally received the recognition together Sec. Arsenio Balisacan of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) and Sec. Manuel Bonoan of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
