Guiao, ROS brace for tough game against struggling Meralco
Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao is bracing for a tough game against Meralco especially that both squads are looking to arrest their respective slides in the 2022 PBA Commissioner's Cup at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Saturday, Oct. 22.

Worried that the free fall would continue for the Elasto Painters if they absorb another defeat, Guiao urged his charges to step up in what he considers a big game against the Bolts at 6:45 p.m.
The other half of the twin bill, meanwhile, will feature a showdown between Blackwater and TNT at 4:30 p.m.
Meralco may have been playing lackluster so far in the season with a 1-4 record in the standings but Guiao is not one who would look past a team which, according to him, remains very dangerous and capable of coming back from its early struggles.
"Meralco was also struggling medyo mabigat din sa amin yun because Meralco is still a strong team and easily capable of coming back. If we don't recover sa Meralco game baka magtuluy-tuloy yung slide namin e so I think that's a big game for us," said Guiao.
The fiery mentor will be leaning on his young core that features guys like Rey Nambatac, Gian Mamuyac, and Santi Santillan along with veteran Beau Belga and Gabe Norwood if the Elasto Painters wish to arrest their two game slide.
A lot are also expected from import Steve Taylor Jr. who missed Rain or Shine's 110-91 loss due to health and safety protocol.
"A lot of our players are young players. They have to be subjected like to that kind of tough situation, pressure situation, situation where you don't have your import and key player and you should be able to fight and make a good account of yourselves," he added.
The Bolts, for their part, is looking to get more contributions from import Johnny O'Bryant who has been falling short of the expectations so far in conference especially after only scoring just seven points on a horrid 2-of-17 shooting from the field although he had 16 rebounds and seven assists in Meralco's 89-82 loss to Phoenix.
The decision whether the NBA veteran will keep his job as Meralco import might also depend on how he will perform against Rain or Shine as head coach Norman Black admitted that the team is already mulling the possibility of making an import change
