Team Lakay stalwart Stephen Loman is bracing for the biggest fight of his career yet when he takes on former ONE bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes next month.

It's finally all systems go between Loman and Fernandes as the two bantamweight stars clash at ONE Fight Night 4: Abbasov vs. Lee on Nov. 19 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Loman easily made himself known in the Circle after back-to-back wins since his December 2021 debut against Yusup Saadulaev.
The 30-year-old Loman, who knocked out Saadulaev, followed up his huge win with a convincing unanimous decision victory against Shoko Sato last March.
"I’m so happy for this opportunity. Now the people will get to see the results of all the hardwork and training that I’ve done. I’m truly excited for this bout," said Loman, who is currently the No. 4 bantamweight contender.
"Bibiano’s one of the top contenders still in the division so a win here and I could be next in line for the title," added Loman, who holds a 15-2 record.
Indeed, this could be a rare chance for Loman as a victory would likely make him the next opponent against reigning champion John Lineker, who will be facing second-ranked fighter Fabricio Andrade on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Team Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao, for his part, believes that a more determined Fernandes, who sustained a 24-5 slate, will return to action following his heartbreaking loss to Lineker.
And this is eagerness something that Loman's camp has to look out for when they clash in the Circle.
"He could be really motivated coming from that loss against Lineker. It’s either he’s frustrated or motivated. We’ll see," said Sangiao.
"We all know Bibiano hasn’t experienced defeat in a long time. Of course, that loss will certainly serve as a big lesson for him, either way, we’re preparing for him to the best that we can."
