DOLE's role in ensuring workers' well-being and mental health tackled in 'Oh My Job'

This Saturday, "Oh My Job" (OMJ) will feature Dr. Teresita S. Cocueco, MD Executive Director, Occupational Safety and Health Center.

The second week of October is observed as National Mental Health Week. The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has enacted into policy the right of every Filipino worker to have access to proper mental health care.

It has brought into existence the Mental Health Workplace and Policy Program to increase awareness on its importance to avoid stigma and discrimination, to help employees who are at risk and to get the recommended medical attention they need.

In the “Oh May Good News” segment, DOLE supported the members of the Hoskyn Sailors and Fisherfolks Association in the Bangus Production Livelihood Project that gave an alternative livelihood to the marines from Jordan at Buenavista who were displaced due to the pandemic.

DOLE - Camarines Norte Provincial Office and Camarines Norte State College (CNSC) Research and Extension Office also partnered to help uplift the lives of the marginalized sector of the province.

A livelihood intervention and employment generation were the outcomes of this cooperation to help the members of Mount Cadig Development Association, Inc. (MCDAI).
