Discipline traffic enforcers, cops first before motorcycle riders, Bosita tells MMDA

1-Rider Party-list Rep. Bonifacio Bosita has gained a commitment from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) for the agency to focus on "disciplining" its traffic enforcers.

This was revealed by Bosita during a recent interview with government-run Radyo Pilipinas wherein the neophyte spoke about the proposed motorcycle lane in Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City--one of the busiest highways in the metropolis.

"Kasabay po kasi nito, ang tinitignan syempre yung disiplina (Regarding this, the matter is about imposing discipline)," he said.

Apparently, Bosita was consulted by the MMDA on the planned motorcycle lane.

"Eh nabanggit ko po yan sa pamunuan ng MMDA, na sa usaping disiplina ng motorcycle riders, ang mungkahi ko, bago natin bigyan yan ng atensyon ay unahin natin yung disiplina ng inyong mga traffic enforcers at pulis (My suggestion to the MMDA leadership on the issue of disciplining motorcycle riders is, let's give attention first to your traffic enforcers and police that need to be disciplined)," he said.

According to the popular YouTuber-turned-congressman, it was "not right" to seemingly single out the motorcycle riders.

"Kasi hindi maganda na tinitignan natin, disiplinahin natin mga riders pero yung ating mga enforcers at pulis, wala namang disiplina ano? Parang hindi tama iyon (It doesn't look good that we're out to discipline the riders while these enforcers and cops remain undisciplined, right? That doesn't seem right)," he noted.

"With that, nag-commit naman po ang pamunuan ng MMDA na uunahin yung pagdidisiplina sa mga traffic enforcers and police na sumusuway sa batas na kanilang ipinapatupad (the MMDA leadership has committed that they would first discipline the traffic enforcers and cops who violate the laws they're supposedly enforcing)," Bosita said.
