Cagayan LGUs suspend classes due to 'Obet'

Several local government units in Cagayan suspended classes on Friday, Oct. 21, due to heavy rain from tropical depression “Obet.”

Claveria, Sanchez Mira, Santa Praxedes, and Baggao suspended classes in pre-school to senior high school in public and private schools.

In Aparri, classes from pre-school to college in public schools were suspended while private schools were left to the discretion of the head of school and in Ballesteros, pre- school to college if heavy rain experienced Thursday continues Friday.

Moderate to heavy with at times intense rains are expected over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, northern portions of Ilocos Norte, Apayao, and mainland Cagayan from Friday to early Saturday morning due to Obet, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said Friday.
