Wawa bridge in Pangasinan collapses, four rushed to hospital

BAYAMBANG, Pangasinan – At least four people were hurt as a bridge linking Pangasinan and Camiling in Tarlac collapsed at around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20.

Mayor Nina Jose-Quiambao of Bayambang broke the news through her Facebook account.

As this developed, the mayor called on the residents and motorists to keep calm after the incident in Wawa bridge where two trucks were traversing when it collapsed.

“Please keep calm my kababayans, we are coordinating with MDRMC PNP and POSO/BPSO," Mayor Quiambao said on her Facebook page.

She advised everyone in her constituency to stay safe after the Wawa Bridge or ‘Carlos Romulo’ bridge collapse.

Based on a sketchy report, four people were brought to the hospital as a result of the incident.

Mayor Quiambao cautioned everyone who may be near the bridge to stay away from it.
