Wanted NPA fighter nabbed in Cagayan

CAMP Marcelo A. Adduru, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – Police arrested a wanted New People’s Army (NPA) rebel in Barangay Calassitan, Santo Niño, Cagayan before dawn on Tuesday, Oct. 18.

The suspect was identified as Jomar Fernandez, alias “Ron Ron,””Erning,” and “Elsie.”

Fernandez was arrested for violation of Republic Act 11479 or the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020, with no bail recommended; illegal possession, manufacture, and acquisition of firearms, ammunition, or explosives (Presidential Decree 1866 as amended by RA 8294 and RA 9516) with no bail recommended; and the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition, RA 10591, with bail recommended at P120,000.

Fernandez and pieces of evidence were taken to the Santo Nino police station for proper disposition.
