The Quezon City government was cited by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) as one of the “2022 Most Business-Friendly LGU (local government unit)” among the highly urbanized cities in the National Capital Region (NCR) during the 48th Philippine Business Conference and Expo held at the Manila Hotel in Manila on Wednesday, Oct. 19.
The certificate for the special citation was received by Quezon City Business Permits and Licensing Department (QCBPLD) Head Ma. Margarita Rebuyas, on behalf of Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte.
The award aims to highlight a local government unit’s best practices in restoring, resuming, and increasing business operations at the local level in partnership with the private sector, according to a post on the PCCI Most Business-Friendly LGU Awards Facebook page.
“Patunay lamang ito sa pagkilala ng mga business at investors sa ating lungsod sa mahusay nitong pamamahala, pag-usbong ng mga negosyo at pag-unlad ng ekonomiya ng QC (This is just proof of the businesses and investors’ recognition of our city for its good management, the growth of businesses, and the development of QC’s economy),” the city government said in a Facebook post.
On Oct. 7, the city government held its first Quezon City’s Investors Summit where around 200 business leaders and associations, investors, chambers of commerce and foreign dignitaries, city officials, and guests participated in.
The participants tackled key areas for investments, public-private partnerships, and opportunities for growth in line with the city government’s goal to make Quezon City the top business destination in the country.
The PCCI is a non-stock, non-profit, and non-government business organization composed of small, medium, and large enterprises, local chambers and industry associations representing various sectors of business that are working together to foster a healthier Philippine economy and improve the viability of business in the community (according to www.philippinechamber.com).
The Philippine Business Conference and Expo is an annual two-day business summit where policymakers, business, and industry captains meet and exchange ideas on business opportunities.
