The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) is seeking additional P500 million to secure all airports across the country.

OTS Administrator Ma-o Aplasca said the additional budge they are asking is for security equipment that include X-Ray machines.

"We need modern equipment for our system to be at par with other international airports," said Aplasca in an interview with the Airport Press Club headed by Manila Bulletin reporter Ariel Fernandez.

At least 45 airports are being secured by the OTS.

Aside from equipment, he said the agency also needs additional manpower.

Currently, the OTS has more or less 2,000 personnel.

"We are asking the Department of Budget and Management for more budget for equipment and more personnel," said Aplasca.
