MWSS-RO to hold bill rebate info drive for affected Maynilad customers
The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System-Regulatory Office (MWSS-RO) will conduct an information drive on the rebate that Maynilad customers in Muntinlupa and other areas will get due to water service interruptions that the company implemented.
Last month, the MWSS-RO announced that it penalized Maynilad P9.26 million for the water service interruptions it implemented within the supply zone of its Putatan Water Treatment Plant in Muntinlupa.

The public information drive on the rebate program for affected Maynilad customers will be held on Oct. 26 at Philamlife Village Homeowners Association’s Del Rosario Function Hall, Philamlife Village, Pamplona, Las Piñas.
From May to July this year, the MWSS-RO monitored the prolonged water service interruptions and water quality issues in the southern part of the West Concession Area.
It found that Maynilad “breached its service obligation of ensuring the availability of an uninterrupted twenty-four (24) hour supply of water at seven (7) pounds per square inch (psi) minimum pressure for more than 15 days to connected customers in parts of Las Piñas City, Muntinlupa City, Parañaque City, and Cavite Province’s Bacoor City, Imus City, Cavite City, Noveleta, and Rosario.”
The MWSS-RO approved a resolution to impose a financial penalty on Maynilad for the water service interruptions.
According to the MWSS-RO, the public information drive will provide customers with the nature, scope and other details of the implementation of the rebate program.
It will also explain and clarify the bill rebates and get comments on improving gender-responsive services.
