Gov. Raphaelle Veronica Ortega-David posted on Facebook on Tuesday, Oct. 18, the approval of Executive Order (EO) 25 that will allow female employees of the provincial government to work from home two days a month while they have their periods.

“I hope that with this EO, we can spread awareness and be kinder to our female employees, especially during their period days,” she said.

She added that aside from the work-from-home arrangement, the provincial government will also provide menstrual kits in every office.

David pledged to focus on women's empowerment, youth development, and expanded access to quality education as the first lady governor of the province.

Zeny Aspiras, supervising administrative officer at the Human Resource Management Office of the provincial administrator, said in a phone interview that they are still formulating the guidelines for the EO.

“Although it is a work-from-home arrangement, it will still be output-based as per the existing rules under Civil Service Commission,” she said.

Aspiras said her female co-workers are grateful and excited about the new policy.
