A man was arrested by members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) for allegedly stealing cable wires and carrying an improvised shotgun in Barangay Balingasa, Quezon City on Thursday, Oct. 20.
Lt. Col. Garman Manabat, La Loma Station (PS1) commander, identified the suspect as Bobby Ramos, 36, resident of Brgy. Sauyo, Quezon City.
According to the police, Ramos was collared at 12:39 a.m. along A. Bonifacio near corner 11th Avenue in Brgy. Balingasa, Quezon City.
The witness, Alejandro Narciso, 46, security guard of St. Clair Security & Investigation Agency Inc., was conducting patrol in the area when he spotted the suspect cutting wires owned by PLDT Inc.
PS1 immediately dispatched personnel to the area after Narciso reported the incident.
Recovered from the suspect were 400 pairs of 0.4 gauge cable approximately four meters long worth P12,750, a metal cutting saw, and a sumpak (homemade shotgun) loaded with 12 gauge shotgun ammunition.
The suspect will face charges for violations of Republic Act (RA) 10515 or the Anti-Cable Television and Cable Internet Tapping Act of 2013 and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Act, police said.
