Amazon’s Prime Video Philippines announced that it will launch the Korean drama “Curtain Call” starring Kang Ha-neul and Ha Ji-won on the streaming platform on Oct. 31.
“Curtain Call” also stars Go Doo-shim, Sung Dong--il, Jung Jis-o, Noh Sang-hyun, and Kwon Sang-woo about people who get involved in a scam of a man given the special mission of making a terminally ill grandmother’s wish come true and the man’s struggles to maintain his cover.
The 16-episode drama will be available on Prime Video in the Philippines with two episodes to be released weekly every Monday and Tuesday.
“Curtain Call” is directed by Yoon Sang-ho of “River Where the Moon Rises,” “Kingmaker: The Change of Destiny” and “Saimdang, Memoir of Colors.”
In the drama, actor Yoo Jaehun (played by Kang Ha-neul) is hired to pretend to be the grandson of Ja Geumsoon (Go Doo-shim), a dying woman from North Korea who fled to South Korea during the war.
Yoo Jaehun tries to maintain his cover but starts to fall in love with a woman who must not learn his secret.
Ja Geumsoon was born Hamgyeong province in the northern part of Korea in 1930. She became separated from her husband and child while fleeing the war. She establishes the Nak-Won Inn in South Korea, hoping to meet her family again someday.
She meets a man in South Korea and starts a family. Nak-Won Inn flourishes to become the Hotel Paradise.
Ja Geumsoon has three children in South Korea. However, she learns that her son, who left North Korea, also has a son. She hopes to meet his grandson before she dies.
On the other hand, Yoo Jaehun grew up as an orphan and believes that doing what makes him happy is more important than money, which led him to become an actor and hopes to star on TV.
He takes on different part-time jobs. One day he takes on the role of a North Korea at a local theater and is noticed by a man who offers him an opportunity–to become an old woman’s North Korean grandson in real life.
Ha Ji-won is Park Seyeon in “Curtain Call,” Ja Geumsoon’s youngest grandchild and general manager of Paradise Hotel.
“Curtain Call” marks the reunion after three years of Kang Ha-neul and Go Doo-shim who worked together in the drama “When the Camellia Blooms” in 2019.
