Flood-affected families in CDO, Misamis Oriental receive assistance from PH Red Cross
The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) immediately deployed personnel and assets to help families whose houses were submerged, swept away, or destroyed by floodwaters that hit the eastern part of Cagayan De Oro this weekend.

Hundreds of residents evacuated their homes due to rampaging flood waters. They were assisted by PRC through the deployment of 6x6 rescue trucks.
PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Richard J. Gordon said that the organization helped people in the affected areas during the evacuation.
“Binisita namin ang mga evacuation centers at nagpadala rin kami ng aming food truck na may dalang bagong luto at mainit na pagkain (We visited the evacuation centers and we also sent our food truck with freshly cooked and hot food),” Gordon said.
Gordon noted that 200 individuals in Bugo National High School were given food.

Based on PRC’s assessment team, 1,532 families were affected by the rampaging floodwaters, damaging 360 houses and taking the life of at least one person.
PRC also plans to distribute non-food items to help 340 families affected by the flooding in Brgy Bago.
