
Some roads in Pasig City will be closed to vehicular traffic on Monday, Oct. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon, due to the groundbreaking ceremony for the Metro Manila Subway project.
These roads include Meralco Avenue (Northbound), Flyover of Meralco Avenue - Northbound), and the Service Road (Meralco Avenue - Northbound).
The local government released a traffic advisory on Sunday, Oct. 2, on the available alternate routes for motorists.
All vehicles coming from Meralco Avenue (Northbound) going to EDSA (via Ortigas Avenue) may proceed to Julia Vargas Avenue, turn left to Lanuza Avenue, then left again to Ortigas Avenue and then to their destination. They may also take the SM Megamall road to their destination.
All vehicles from Meralco Avenue (Northbound) going to Rizal (via Ortigas Avenue) can proceed to Julia Vargas Avenue, turn left to Lanuza Avenue, then turn right to Ortigas Avenue to their destination.

All vehicles coming from Julia Vargas Avenue going to Ortigas Avenue may pass through Lanuza Avenue to their destination.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) previously announced that it will close portions of Meralco Avenue (from Estancia to Shaw Boulevard) in Pasig City starting Oct. 3, 2022 until the year 2028, or for a period of six years, to begin the construction of the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) - Shaw Boulevard Station.
The DOTr and the local government have set up temporary alternate routes during this period.
The MMSP, funded by the Japanese government, will be the country's first underground railway system.
