Bonoan reappoints Canlas as DPWH-NCR director

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Sec. Manuel Bonoan has reappointed Nomer Abel P. Canlas as regional director of the department's National Capital Region (NCR) office.

Canlas is known to have initiated innovations on practices and resources that expedited infrastructure projects in Metro Manila and resulted in uplifting the regional office's ranking in terms of physical accomplishments from rank 13 to the top of the heap in March 2022 nationwide.

He also prioritized the cleaning and greening of center islands in Metro Manila, launched the growing of caballero trees, initiated plant boxes.

Canlas is now pushing for the upgrade and modernization of the facilities and resources in the region and districts.

He said a total of 1,482 roadside workers were also insured against any accidents during work through the provision of insurance membership.

Canlas reappointment came after a series of deliberation and assessment of his performance as regional director. (Chito A. Chavez)
