The Baguio City government is set to start the construction of a P400-million multi-level parking building at the former location of the Baguio City Fire Department.

City Administrator Engr. Bonifacio dela Peña said that they have finalized the plan for the parking building near the City Hall.
He said the area is an ideal location for parking because it is close to the central business district and no one will park at the city hall anymore and other places near the market that cause traffic and congestion.
The fire department began moving to their new office in Purok 11, Apugan, Barangay Irisan, on Sept. 28 to give way to the project.
According to Fire Marshall Supt. Nestor Gorio, their former headquarters was very advantageous because it is in the central business area and they can respond within seven minutes due to its location.
Despite the new location, Gorio assured the people that they will continue to fulfill their responsibilities and maintain their efficiency and prompt response to fire incidents.
Dela Peña assured that the city government will provide an allotment for fire trucks in the new parking building to enable the fire department to respond quickly.
