The Zamboanga City Police Office recorded 32 shooting incidents from January to Oct. 14 this year, the most recent was the assassination of former policeman and businessman Alvin Perez.

Acting Zamboanga City police chief Col. Alexander Lorenzo said during the City Peace and Order Council meeting last week at the Zamboanga City Hall that of the 32 shooting incidents, 20 had been solved, six had been cleared, and six are still under investigation.
The 32 shooting incidents are among 502 crimes during the third quarter of 2022. Lorenzo said 452 had been solved while 42 were cleared.
The Zamboanga City Police Office has a crime solution rate of 90.04 percent and a clearance efficiency of 16.11 percent.
A crime is considered solved when the suspects are arrested and charged in court and cleared when the suspects are identified but still at large.
