Pasay City's 'Kandili ng Kalusugan' cited by DOH as best Covid-19 response, vaccination practices


The Department of Health-Metro Manila Center for Health Development (DOH-MMCHD) recognized the Pasay City government’s “Kandili ng Kalusugan” as one of the Covid-19 response and vaccination best practices for the month of September.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the city government continues to provide free medical consultation and medicines to Pasayeños through the “Kandili ng Kalusugan” program.

Rubiano said the program is being brought to around 201 barangays in the city to serve all residents that need medical consultations and medicines.

“Kandili ng Kalusugan” focuses on the health conditions of senior citizens and children especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The mayor said the project also helped the city government in lowering the cases of Covid-19 in the city with 20 actives cases recorded on Oct. 18.

Rubiano said the city government is also visiting different barangays in the city to give free flu and pneumonia vaccines for senior citizens.

She said the health of the residents is part of her HELP agenda (Health and housing, Education, economic growth and environment, Livelihood and lifestyle, Peace and Order, Palengke (market) and Pamilya (family).
