P10-M marijuana seized in Bulacan, 3 arrested

An estimated P10 million worth of suspected marijuana was recovered from three arrested drug peddlers during an intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign by the Bulacan Philippine National Police (PNP) in Guiguinto and Obando on Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan police officer-in-charge, identified the three arrested suspects as Eliterio Pazon Jr., 28; Hazel Domingo, 31, both of Barangay Sta. Rita, Guiguinto; and Allan Lucero alias "Lance," 31, of Barangay Hulo, Obando, Bulacan.

Based on the police report, Pazon Jr. and Domingo were the first to be caught in a buy-bust operation in Masagana Homes, Sta. Rita, Guiguinto.

The buy-bust joint operation was conducted by the Guiguinto police with the Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) at about 3:15 a.m. wherein 16 bricks of suspected marijuana with an estimated weight of 30 kilograms worth P3,600,000 were seized.

A joint buy-bust operation by the Obando police with the PIU also resulted in the arrest of Lucero in Barangay Hulo at around 4:35 a.m. Recovered from him were 67 bricks of suspected marijuana weighing about 53.5 kilograms with an estimated value of P6,420,000.

Arnedo said the intensified campaign against illegal drugs and all forms of criminality by the Bulacan PNP is in line with the directive of PRO3 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Cesar R. Pasiwen, in maintaining peace and order in the region.
