NPD nets P12-M marijuana in Caloocan buy-bust

Members of the Northern Police District (NPD) seized over P12 million worth of alleged marijuana and arrested two men in Caloocan City on Wednesday, Oct. 19.

The NPD District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) identified the suspects as John Kenneth Herna, 30; and Grant Gallano, 24, both from Caloocan City.

The suspects were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by the DDEU, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), at the parking lot of a fast food chain in Barangay 8 in the city at around 9:25 a.m. on Wednesday.

Confiscated from the suspects were around 100 kilos of alleged marijuana worth P12,000,000, a cellphone, a notepad with the list of alleged drug transactions, four pieces of garbage bag, a black Hyundai Accent vehicle, and the buy-bust money.

The suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, police said.
