NOW Corporation’s fixed wireless broadband solutions, NOW Fiber Air, has added UnionBank’s recently inaugurated UB Innovation Campus (UBIC) to its roster of 450 enterprise clients across Metro Manila, Laguna, Cavite, and Batangas.
UnionBank built UBIC, its first-in-the- Philippines training and development hub, within a one-hectare compound in San Pedro, Laguna, to focus on digital banking, blockchain, artificial intelligence, metaverse, and other future technologies.
Significantly, UBIC will benefit not just lender’s employees and those of its parent Aboitiz Group.
The hub will also train small businesses and public sector agencies.
NOW Fiber Air provided guaranteed internet connectivity to UBIC within five days when traditional wired internet service providers usually take several weeks or months to do so.

NOW Corporation also provides guaranteed internet connectivity to UnionBank’s head office in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
In fact, UnionBank is one of NOW Fiber Air’s biggest client. The bank's headquarters rely on its 1.2Gbps dedicated internet connectivity provided as backup.
“NOW Corp has been our connectivity partner for a few years now, and we are very happy with their service,” a senior representative from UnionBank confirmed.
“We get VIP customer experience, as we get C-level executives’ visits to our headquarters, ensuring our connection is stable. And they also share insights valuable to the bank,” he added.
“NOW Fiber Air’s advantage is that there is no need to dig underground, thus, their speed to deploy is unmatched. For our UBIC, they were able to install in about one week, right after construction was done,” the executive explained.
NOW Fiber Air uses point-to-point or point-to-multipoint fixed wireless technology that ensures connection security at all times.
Thus, the service is spared from fiber optic cable cuts — a problem common to fixed wired internet services that pass through copper cables or fiber ducts mounted underground or through electrical posts.
It takes days, weeks, or even months to fix fiber optic cable cuts.
To guarantee security in connection, NOW Fiber Air uses telco-grade equipment from global suppliers that adhere to the digital trust standards set by the Clean Network.
The outdoor antenna and the necessary peripherals could withstand very harsh weather conditions to ensure uninterrupted connectivity even in the most crucial times.
