The city government of Navotas received recognition from the Department of Health - Metro Manila Center for Health Development (DOH-MMCHD) for the success of the city’s implementation of the National Immunization Program.
The National Immunization Program award was received by Acting Navotas City Health Officer Eric Caseñas during the DOH-MMCHD 35th Founding Anniversary celebration at the Manila Hotel last Oct. 14.
It also came with a P150,000 cash grant which will be used to help in providing medical and health services in the city.
Mayor John Rey Tiangco, meanwhile, thanked the City Health Office personnel for their efforts in taking care of the children of Navotas.
“This award reflects our steadfast commitment to deliver to our constituents the best health care services available for them,” he said.
The city government was also cited by the DOH for the successful run of its "Chikiting Bakunation Days" campaign in June.
A total of 929 children aged 0-23 months, which is 115.12 percent of its 807 target, got inoculated in the said program.
In 2021, Navotas also scored 101.11 percent in Measles-Rubella Supplementary Immunization Activity (MR-SIA).
It also exceeded its target in Measles-Rubella-Tetanus-Diphtheria Community-Based Immunization (MR-Td-CBI) on the same year, with 129.76 percent inoculation rate in Measles-Rubella and 124.64 percent in Tetanus-Diphtheria.
