House Deputy Speaker and Cebu 5th district Rep. Vincent Franco "Duke" Frasco recently distributed nearly P8 million worth of scholarship grants to student-beneficiaries from four municipalities in his district.
Benefitting from the scholarship grants worth P7,751,000 were 1,935 scholars from the towns of San Francisco, Poro, Tudela and Pilar.
Accompanying the ranking congressman during the distribution over the weekend were Board Member Mike Villamor and Sangguniang Bayan Members of the four LGUs of the Camotes Islands.
According to a Facebook post from Frasco that carried photos of the event, the deputy speaker's scholarship program has benefitted over 10,000 deserving and qualified students.
Frasco also distributed 206 backpacks and notebooks to Grade 1 students in a subsequent program held at the San Francisco Central School.
A total of 11,000 backpacks and notebooks were planned for distribution for all Grade 1 students in the province’s 5th district.

Frasco also gave cash aid for the Parents- Teachers Association (PTA) Officers in the amount of P20,000 as support for their school projects. He said the money come from his personal funds.
The House of Representatives is in the middle of a month-long recess. During such time, the House members make it a point to visit their respective districts to touch base with their constituents.
The solons also take this opportunity to check on the progress of their pet projects.
