CJ Austria of De La Salle and Adama Faye of University of Santo Tomas were both meted with a one-game suspension and will be summoned by the UAAP commissioner's office on Wednesday, Oct. 19, ahead of the quadruple-header in the men's basketball tournament.
Austria was called for a "flagrant unsportsmanlike foul with no direct play for the ball" which he committed at the five-minute mark of the third quarter of their game against the Far Eastern University Tamaraws last Oct. 15.
The 6-foot-3 forward will not see action for the Green Archers (3-2) as they face National University Bulldogs (4-1) in the curtain-raiser at 11:00 a.m. at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
On the other hand, Faye, who was fouled out in their game against Ateneo (3-2) last Oct. 12, was the first to hit the dugout again when they clashed with University of the East (3-2) last Oct. 16.
Faye was found to have committed a "flagrant unsportsmanlike foul” with 56 seconds to go in the third quarter against UE’s Luis Villegas.
The Growling Tiger center will also serve the suspension on Wednesday as they meet with the winless FEU to cap off the quadruple header at 6:30 p.m.
