P10-M rehab of Zambo roads enhances transport connectivity – DPWH

The newly-completed road project connecting Pagadian City and Zamboanga City is now improving the access to transport connectivity in Region 9, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reported on Tuesday, Oct. 18.

According to DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao D. Dia, the preventive maintenance of the 600-meter portion of Pagadian City-Zamboanga City Road aims to resolve the long-year worries of ‘wear-and-tear’ on road pavement.

DPWH Zamboanga City District Engineering Office (DEO) implemented the project with a total cost of P10 million under the 2022 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

The project involves asphalt overlay and the installation of road safety markers and thermoplastic pavement markings to improve road visibility.

With the completion of road rehabilitation, the DPWH said the mobility of goods and transportation connectivity is now more accessible for the traders and commuting public.

"The completion of this segment of the national road in Zamboanga City is much anticipated not only by DPWH but also by residents as it will enhance mobility and promote economic development in the region,” said Dia.
