Man stabbed dead by cousin after heated argument in Negros city

BACOLOD CITY - A man was killed by his cousin following an argument at San Juan Bomba, Barangay 6, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Monday.

The victim was identified as Rovin Zapanta, 34, of Barangay 3.

San Carlos police chief Lt. Col. Jesus Mesahon Jr said the victim was standing in an alley when the suspect identified as Christian Zapanta, 25, of Barangay 5 arrived.

A heated argument then followed when the victim allegedly confronted the suspect about his alleged affair with the victim’s wife, Mesahon said.

A commotion occurred that allegedly led the suspect to stab the victim who was hit in the left armpit. The victim was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.

Mesahon said the suspect denied the allegation of the victim. Homicide charges will be filed against him.
