The last time Andrea del Rosario did a love scene for a movie was 20 years ago. She was still single then and had no daughter, but the actress couldn’t turn down such a juicy offer and knew that her brilliant daughter would understand mommy’s work.

“I'm in my mid 40s, I don’t know if I will be offered a movie as riveting as this! It’s just an honor for me to be in a movie, a work of 'art' written by our newly declared national artist, Ricky Lee. The movie is a drama. It needed a few love scenes to be able to tell its story. That is what it is, according to sir Ricky. I am proud of my daughter Bea because she’s a smart lady, and understands that I am in the “story telling business” and that “love scenes” are part of the story for human beings, it's part of humanity.

"I have set some limitations regarding the love scenes, and Viva was gracious enough to tell me that they will not release anything without my approval. There are a lot of actresses in the industry, but Boss Vic (Del Rosario) of Viva Films chose me for the role.

"A lot of pressure on my part, but happy to be given the opportunity. Regarding the love scenes, I saw 'Glorious' (Angel Aquino), 'Untrue' (Christine Reyes) and 'The Reader' (Kate Winslet) just to see how love scenes are done as the last time I did a love scene in a movie was 20 years ago," said Andrea as she bared her soul to Gossip Girl.

In the past, Andrea starred in the title role of "Lupe" directed by Elwood Perez, "Bugbog Sarado" directed by Joel Lamangan, and "Romeo and Juliet" directed by Connie Mactuno.

This time, Andrea plays Claire, single mom of Pol (Gold Aceron). Claire falls in love with Pol’s best friend Migoy (Kych Minemoto) who is half her age, but her son is in love with his best friend Migoy. "May-December-January" is a story of love and great sacrifices, written by the National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts, Ricky Lee, and directed by the multi-awarded McArthur Alejandre. It is now showing in more than 100 theaters nationwide.
