Will Davao City 1st district Rep. Paolo "Pulong" Duterte's son, 24-year-old Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II follow the footsteps of his dad and ex-president grandfather?
That's the question left on the kind of political observers following the meeting of the three generation of Dutertes that took place at the Davao City residence of former president, Rodrigo Duterte, also known as "Digong".
During the meeting, the trio talked about the Duterte patriarch's life after the presidency, Rep. Duterte’s congressional initiatives, as well as and Rigo’s plans for the future.
"The former president urged the 24-year-old Rigo to keep his options open before making any decision on whether to enter government service or be a private citizen," read a statement from the second-term congressman on Tuesday, Oct. 18.
Pulong, for his part, urged his son Rigo to involve himself more in serving Dabawenyos.
"The Duterte brand of public service has earned the Dabawenyos utmost trust and confidence for several decades now," the same statement read.
Rigo has been representing his father in the activities of the Davao City 1st congressional district office.
Rigo recently led the turnover of a gymnasium and a public funeral home dubbed "Lamayan ng Bayan" in Barangay Talomo, and distributed aid to fire victims in Barangay 76-A Bucana.
