Winwyn Marquez ecstatic over Best Actress win at NY film festival

Winwyn Marquez is quite honored to be recognized at this year's International Film Festival Manhattan (IFFM).

On her social media account, the daughter of Joey Marquez and Alma Moreno said she still can't believe that she won Best Actress (feature film) for her performance in the suspense thriller film "Nelia."

"I want to express my gratitude to everyone behind the International Film Festival Manhattan for giving me this award - it is truly an honor. Our movie 'Nelia' means so much to me and to be recognized as an actress is a dream come true," she said in her acceptance speech.

Then she thanked her "Nelia" family - from the director to the whole cast and crew.

Winwyn also expressed gratitude to the producers for believing in her capabilities and for giving her so much support and trust.

"This award is a win not only for me but for everyone behind 'Nelia.' Maraming, maraming salamat po," she said.

According to Winwyn, she was almost six months into her pregnancy when she announced it during the "Nelia" grand press conference.

"4 months after giving birth to Luna, I was given the opportunity to work alongside award winning actors in a movie (LIGALIG) - Allen Dizon, Snooky Serna, and our National Artist Ms. Nora Aunor," she said.

"Now, Luna is almost 6 months old when I found out I won my very first acting award. Grabe lang ang timing ni God sa lahat. I truly feel HE gave me a lucky charm and si Luna yun."
