The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said on Monday, Oct. 17, that it completed the 162.60-linear meter Tenejero Bypass Road in Balanga City, Bataan, which would resolve the traffic congestion in the province.
In his report to DPWH Region III Director Roseller Tolentino, District Engineer Ulysses Llado of Bataan 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) said the project amounting to P24.5 includes the concreting of the bypass road and the construction of a two-lane, 12-meter concrete bridge.
Llado said the newly completed project is seen to bring relief to residents, especially motorists transporting goods in and out of Balanga City, which is among the busiest cities in Bataan.
"The bypass road now connects the urban barangays of Tenejero and Camacho, both highly populated and located in the commercial district of Balanga City," said Llado.
He noted that traffic congestion as one of the worries for residents for a very long time.
"Traffic congestion is a big problem for motorists for years so this project will bring them tremendous relief," he added.
Llado said aside from concreting the road, they also constructed a 453.20-lineal meter drainage canal alongside the bypass road to prevent water accumulation on the road shoulder.
"There is also a provision of a 244-lineal meter concrete slope protection structure to help stabilize the slope and protect surrounding the properties," he added.
