CAAP monitors effects of 'Neneng' in Northern Luzon airports, issues NOTAM due to Mayon rumbling


The Civil Aviation Authority Of the Philippines (CAAP) has started conducting assessment on the effect of typhoon "Neneng" in various airports in the affected areas.

Based on the initial report, the weather disturbance affected the roof of the airport in Baguio City while the portion of a ramp at the Laoag City airport was flooded.

The CAAP also disclosed that it has ben monitoring the rumblings of the Mayon Volcano in Albay.

A Notice to Airmen was also issued until 9 a.m. Oct. 18 in Albay wherein pilots were advised to avoid flying close to volcano's summit.
