Business registration now available online, BIR says

Business registration can now be done online, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) said on Monday, Oct. 17, as the agency continuously push for digital transformation.

BIR Commissioner Lilia Catris Guillermo said taxpayers may submit their application for registration for head office, or branch under its NewsBizReg portal.

It can be accessed directly at www.bir.gov.ph/NewsBizReg/.

Guillermo said taxpayer should submit the application and other required documents to the revenue district office where the business is located via email through this portal.

She said it is part of the bureau's digital transformation program to enhance the agency's service and make tax compliance easier.

Before the end of the year, the BIR will launch another digital program called online registration and update system (ORUS).

Through ORUS, Guillermo explained taxpayers can register their business, update their registration information and apply for secondary registration online 24/7 basis.
