Taxpayers can now avail of electronic appointment (eAppointment) service in transacting business with its field offices nationwide, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) announced on Monday, Oct. 17.
In a statement, BIR Commissioner Lilia Catris Guillermo said the move is to avoid long queues and maintain social distancing to avoid Covid-19 infections.
Guillermo said the electric system can be accessed via BIR website at www.bir.gov.ph.
"It is available with the agency's 99 out of the 132 revenue district offices across the country," said Guillermo.
Transactions covered by the eAppointment are registration of business, authority to print (ATP) receipts and invoices, registration of books of accounts, applications for Taxpayers Identification Number.
Update of registration information, application for transfer registration, application for update/change/replacement certificate of registration, application for closure of business/cancellation of registration (COR) account enrollment/activation of eServices (eFiling Payment System/eAccounting registration/eSales) and releasing of COR and ATP, the BIR said in a statement.
