"She was instrumental in institutionalizing PRC’s mobile bloodletting program; she helped start the campaign in schools and military camps, including the American military base in Pampanga, the province of her origin. She also helped raise funds to upgrade PRC’s facilities," PRC said.

Rosal, who celebrated her 94th birthday on Sunday, Oct. 16., was also one of the pioneers in "advancing the work of PRC."

She joined PRC three years after its foundation in 1947.

Rosal is also a member of the PRC's Board of Governors.

"Ang Red Cross ay tunay na mapalad na masaksihan ang pambihirang malasakit na ipinakita ni Rosa Rosal, hindi lamang bilang Red Cross member at leader, kundi sa kanyang personal na kapasidad (Red Cross is truly lucky to have witnessed the great compassion that Rosa Rosal showed not just as a Red Cross member and leader but as well as though her personal means)," PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Gordon said.
